Curtis Golomb
Born in Northern Ontario in 1963, Curtis now resides in Okotoks, Alberta.
Curtis is self taught and has been painting since the age of fifteen. His
ability to employ variations in his styles, techniques, and most recently
mixed water colour applications, has allowed him to express scenes as he
desires.
This Southern Alberta artist has developed a widespread reputation for his
colourful and evocative landscapes. He spends countless hours seeking
inspiration while hiking and exploring the outdoors, thereby capturing
moments of solitude and serenity.
"I'll work on location in water colour, sketch on location, and also from
photos I have taken in the field. My main objective is always to employ
strong compositional elements, sound principals of design, and solid colour
harmony. While pushing water colour and water mediums to new levels of
contrast, drama and colour, the final piece should evoke an emotional
response and feelings so that each scene can be related to one's life
experiences."
